PROGRAM STRUCTURE AND REQUIREMENTS

Graduates of the program will be required to complete 60 semester hours of course work and a thesis. The course work and requirements are structured as follows:


APPLIED HISTORY (30 hours)

Foundations Courses (24 hours)

Elective Specialization Courses (3 hours)
A variety of courses to expand the minor field or complement training in the field of Applied History, including oral history, museum management anthropology and archaeology.

Thesis (3 hours)
A thesis will be prepared on a topic of interest to the student. Many thesis topics evolve out of the internship.


LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE (30 hours)

Foundations Courses (24 hours)

Elective Specialization Course (3 hours)
A variety of courses in such areas as on-line systems, business information, government documents, and microcomputers are available for specialization choices.

Internship (3 hours)
Internships will be in libraries, archives, museums, records management programs, and historical agencies as agreed to by the student and advisor.
