Admission into the joint program is selective and is based on History and Library and Information Science faculty assessment of three letters of recommendation, Graduate Record Examination scores, and transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work. Applicants must submit a single application form to the Graduate School in which the program of study desired is clearly indicated as the M.A./M.L.I.S. Joint Program. However both the College of Library and Information Science and the History Department have special admission requirements and students should also contact these departments directly. Students are accepted into the Public History Program during the Spring semester for admission in the following Summer or Fall academic terms. The application deadline for the Applied History Program is early January. For more information on admissions and application procedures contact: Students are accepted into the College of Library and Information Science every semester. Deadlines vary for each semester. Interested students should contact the admissions coordinator at the College for more information: The University of South Carolina Graduate School's deadlines for admissions may differ from those of the Applied History Program and the College of Library and Information Science. Deadlines for the individual programs take precedence over the general admissions dates of the Graduate School.
