(3) A survey, from ancient times to the present, of the evolution and social role of information organizations (libraries, archives, information centers, etc.) and technologies (books, journals, computers, etc.). Emphasis on the U.S. in the 19th and 20th centuries.
715 Printing. (1) Introduction to printing with movable type. This course is designed to give students some experience in designing and printing books and broadsides. Examination of paper, typefaces, composition work, and simple bookbinding are included.
