Ron T. Brown received his Ph.D. in Information and Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007, He also received both his Masters of Information Science in 2002, and his Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematical Science in 1999 from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Dr. Brown's research interests are in the information seeking and use of online video. He is particularly interested in how educators search for and discover new sources of online video, how online video repositories disseminate online video information and the role library media specialists play in the management of online video resources. His other research interests include social networking in virtual environments and designing information systems in various settings.
