High Tech - Hi Touch

If you want to work full time or remain in your community while you pursue your master's degree, SLIS offers an award winning Distance Education Program of studies.

Student cohorts are established in which students progress through the program together. This method has been used in Georgia, West Virginia, Maine, and Virginia. Distance courses provide the same high quality instruction as those on our Columbia campus. In fact, most of the courses that are available to our cohorts include distance students from South Carolina and our full time, on-campus students.

SLIS offers a variety of delivery methods for our various distance education courses. Most include several delivery methods that are selected based on our students' access to the technologies and the nature of the content of the courses. All courses are periodically offered using the web as the primary delivery method.

Delivery methods include:

There is no residency requirement for the Master's or Specialist Degrees.
A personal portfolio is required for all students.
