Hours Spring, 2008
Open Monday thru Friday 8:30 - 9:00pm
- Staffed Monday - Friday , 4pm to 9pm
- Also staffed Tuesday 8:30 to 1:30
- Also staffed Wednesday 11-4
- Also staffed Thursdays 10-3
Staffed Saturday,
8:30 - 1:30
Special arrangements can be made for using the lab to participate in online class discussions (Breeze or Blackboard Chat) outside of regualr lab hours.
The lab may be closed for holidays or reserved for workshops or classes. Check the USC-SLIS or SLISINFO listservs for closing information or look for announcements on the lab doors.

Only SLIS Graduate Students can use the labs

No children are allowed in the labs.

No food or drinks are allowed in the labs.

No copying of software is allowed.

Please bring your own storage media. While you can save on the hard drives of machines in the labs, your files are not protected from access by others. The hard drives are also purged periodically, so you may lose your files.
What is available?

Room 110 Selected terminals are equipped with Adobe Photoshop Elements, Omnipage, Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Office 2007, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Adobe Acrobat Distiller. There are signs on the monitors which detail what software is available on each machine.

Room 110 has 4 Macintosh machines and a printer.

Room 110 also has 3 scanners for student use.

Room 111 is often used druing the day as a computer classroom. Machines run under Windows XP Professional and are equipped with Microsoft Office 2003, Mozilla, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox, Macromedia Studio 8, Adobe Photoshop Elements.

There is a laser printer in each lab accessible to all the machines. There is no charge for printing.

There is a digital camera and digital camcorder available for checkout.
E-Mail There are a variety of options available for accessing e-mail. The university gives all registered students an e-mail account. There is information concerning these accounts at this address: http://www.sc.edu/universityemail/
SLIS strongly recommends that you do not use Hotmail or AOL mail. Problems have occurred.
