Letter from Dr. Philip R. Lee - U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health in 1996:

In the fall of 1996, several major newspapers ran articles about CFS that were dismissive in tone and contained incorrect information. To address that situation, the U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health, Dr. Philip R. Lee, sent the letter that follows to the editors of the Boston Globe, New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post.

None of the newpapers published the letter.
