Retirement Planning
- It's About You AND Your Information Agency
Jack
Bryan, Retired, Director of Administration, SC Attorney General's Office
Nobody mentioned retirement when you
earned your degrees. Now it seems everyone is mentioning
someone's retirement. When you retire, what will happen to the
information business where you work? What is your professional
obligation in planning your own retirement? You wanted to
make a good first impression on your first day of work. Sooner or
later it will be time to think about making that last and lasting
impression you make striding into retirement. Retirement from
work is much more than your retirement benefits or asking your
financial advisor about your 401K. In this session, we will
discuss the management and human resources issues surrounding
retirement such as 1) am I ready to retire, 2) am I the last to know,
3) preserving institutional memory, 4) planning for a smooth
transition, and 5) accepting changes before you leave.
