Practical Copyright:  Issues for Academic, Archival, and Museum Libraries
David Lehmann, Coleman Karesh Law Library, USC

This workshop is designed to educate participants in the practice and pitfalls of copyright issues.  The focus of the workshop will be academic library issues, especially course packs, which in light of the recent Georgia State Lawsuit is becoming a topic that librarians must understand.  Additionally, we will review the sec. 108 copyright executive committee recommendations for change for archives, libraries and museums.  This will be a practical look at copyright for librarians in practical situations.  We will look at copyright as it impacts digital media and print media in a librarian's everyday environment.   Attendees will be guided through the process using real-like examples to understand copyright problems and their solutions.
