Cocky’s Reading Express had a great time Painting Charlotte Garnet and the beginning o
f USC’s football season with a trip to Rock Hill and Fort Mill schools on September 2, 2011.
Five USC student volunteers (including Cocky) visited two title one schools and gave books to over 700 students. The first holder of the Augusta Baker Chair in Childhood Literacy, Dr. Michelle Martin, joined us on the trip as well. The new Coordinator for CRE, Christine Reinecker, was interviewed by News Channel 2 to spread the word about the program.
