International Studies

There are hundreds of opportunities to study abroad. People with various educational levels can apply for research grants, fellowships, graduate degrees, and earn college credit for undergraduate degrees.

The United States Information Agency (USIA) offers a wide range of programs under their International Exchange program. The USIA has educational advising centers for students in East Central Europe, Western Europe, and around the world. The USIA manages the Fulbright Scholarship Program, now celebrating its 50th anniversary. Since 1946 over 31,000 American scholars have lectured and conducted research in countries around the globe. The Fulbright Program provides grants for graduate students, lecturers and researchers, and secondary school teachers from the United States and around the world.

UNU Fellowships awarded for postgraduate research training for periods varying from three months to one year. About 120 fellowships and Ph.D. internships awarded annually by the UNU Headquarters and the Research and Training Centers (RTCs). It is essential for prospective candidates to have a recommendation from their home institutions.
