Government
ArchitecturePlus - From the office of Governmentwide Policy, this site focuses on the new developments in the information technology and architecture arena. The goal of ArchitecturePlus is to build a Federal Community of Architects and contribute to agency architectural planning. There is some really good information here. http://www.itpolicy.gsa.gov/mke/archplus/archhome.htm
Department of Energy's Site on Information Architecture - Who would of thought that the Department of Energy has such an extensive web site on Information Architecture. Actually, this site contains all of the DOE's published documents regarding their initiative to implement an Information Architecture structure so government agencies can share information. Some of the content contained here is very complex, but it's a great web site nonetheless. http://cio.doe.gov/iap
Information Services Policy Board - The state of Maine is attempting to implement a state-wide information architecture strategy. The Information Services Policy Board was developed to bring all state governmental departments together to form a cohesive web design and information sharing concept. This site is not for the faint of heart. If you truly want to see bureaucratic government in action, making things more complicated then they have to be, then this site is for you. http://janus.state.me.us/policybd/
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory - Working in conjunction with the DOE initiative, the LLNL is striving to form a set of principles upon which Information Architecture can be built. This site is much more user-friendly and easy to understand. There's a lot of interesting stuff. http://www.llnl.gov/projects/ia/library/
Education
Information Architecture Shaping Knowledge into Form - Even academia is getting into the information architecture act. Actually, this site contains a very praiseworthy thesis from MIT graduate student Mark Foltz called "The Design of Navigable Information Spaces." Look for it under the publication link. His entire thesis is published on the web, using principles he explores. The site also includes interesting spatial experiments. http://www.infoarch.ai.mit.edu/
Information Architecture: The Representation of Virtual Environments - Another master's thesis, this time from Larry Burks, a student at Harvard's Graduate School of Design. Burks analyzes the principles of architecture and applies them to a virtual electronic environment. A great intellectual treatment about the theories behind architectural web space. http://www.gsd.harvard.edu/~lburks/f1/research/prep/thesis.html
Tufts University Information Architecture Plan - See a real Information Architecture strategy being put into place. Tufts University is creating an Information Architecture committee to share and architect information throughout their hallowed halls. Some of it is rather complicated, but when it comes to computer planning and universities isn't everything? http://www.library.tufts.edu/IA/ia_plan.html
Information Architecture Home Page - Like Tufts University, the University of Pittsburgh is also implementing a university-wide information architecture infrastructure. All of their plans are located on this site in the report called the Information Architecture and Process Innovation Project. http://www.pitt.edu/~architec
