CanLII is Canada’s main source of free access to primary legal material. It is specific to the law of Canada and the law of the Canadian provinces. Among other things it provides information about the Constitution, statutes and regulations, courts and cases law.

Table of Public Statutes and Responsible Ministers
The Table of Public Statutes is a reference document which provides useful historical information on the acts comprising the consolidated statutes, including a chronological listing of amendments, repealed acts, years of enactment and responsible ministers.
Consolidated Index of Statutory Instruments The Consolidated Index of Statutory Instruments table provides a reference to regulations, statutory instruments (other than regulations), and other documents that were in force at any time in the current calendar year.

Courts
Supreme Court of CanadaThe Supreme Court of Canada is Canada's highest court. It is the final general court of appeal, the last judicial resort for all litigants, whether individuals or governments. Its jurisdiction embraces both the civil law of the province of Quebec and the common law of the other provinces and territories. The Supreme Court of Canada hears appeals from the court of last resort, usually the provincial or territorial courts of appeal, and the Federal Court of Appeal.

Federal Court of Canada
The Federal Court of Canada is a superior court of record with civil and criminal jurisdiction. The Court was created in 1971 as successor to the Exchequer Court of Canada which was established in 1875*. Both courts were established under the authority of section 101 of the Constitution Act, 1867, as courts of law, equity and admiralty for the "better administration of the laws of Canada."
