This is an annotated list of electronic sources available to Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd attorneys looking for technology related issues. Since the amount of good online sources grows everyday I have attempted to give you a selection of the best. However, if you do not find the information you need please contact Library Services and we will help you.

Computer law Resource This site is a free site which has a library of cases, news and links to other resources.
Computer Law Association web site. Most of this site is for members only however there are some free features such as news.
KuesterLaw The Technology Law Resource This site deals mainly with patents and trademarks.
Michigan Telecommunications and Technology Law Review "primary purpose is to examine the tensions created by advances in computing, telecommunications, biotechnology, multimedia, networking, information and other technologies." Past and present volumes of this review are free online.
Journal of Science & Technology Law publishes the best practical scholarship from experts in the areas of biotechnology, computers and communications, intellectual property, technology transfer and business law for technology-based companies.
Bitlaw: A Resource on Technology Law is a comprehensive Internet resource on technology law, containing over 1,800 pages on patent, copyright, trademark, and Internet legal issues. BitLaw was created by Daniel A. Tysver, a partner with the intellectual property law firm of Beck & Tysver."

SOUTH CAROLINA SPECIFIC SOURCES
Unfortunately most of South Carolina's sources for technology information are concerned with tracking and notification of hurricanes. There are however, a few sources concerned with the state's technology:
South Carolina Budget & Control Board Office of Research and Statistics "sets the State's strategic directions in the area of information systems to provide for the most efficient technology and greatest access to information in the most cost effective means through appropriate allocations of fiscal and technological resources. Function as a credible and impartial source of information technology management advisement and technical expertise to all levels of state government."
Information Resources Council "is a Governor appointed advisory board of public and private sector leaders guiding South Carolina to becoming an acknowledged leader in using information resources to support effective government and to benefit its citizens and businesses."

LEXIS SOURCES
Lexis lists their computer law under the heading CYBERLAW or E-COMMERCE. There are also sections on COPYRIGHT LAW, TRADEMARKS and PATENT LAW. All of these can be found either by using LexisNexis Practice Pages or under the heading Area of Law - By Topic on the first search page.
Lexis offers bill tracking at both the Federal and State levels. You can perform a search and then save it as an Eclipse. The Eclipse will then email you when your search is updated.
