Government Games

Learning about the different agencies and organizations of the United States Government can be fun and interesting. Many agencies have web sites that offer games and puzzles to not only entertain you, but also to educate you about the agencies and what they do, and to teach you about important issues that you might want to know.
 
 
 

Air Force
At Air Force Link Jr., play the Picture Puzzler, unscramble words, do a Word Search, figure out What in the World, or choose from several other games. Screensavers and wallpapers are also available. You can also learn about what makes planes fly, listen to Air Force music, hear the story of the Air Force, and create your own postcards.

Army National Guard
The Army National Guard offers Checkers, a Jigsaw Puzzle, screen savers, and Stereograms.

Bureau of the Public Debt
Do a Word Search or Word Scramble at the game page of the Bureau of Public Debt. From this page you can also access the Poster Contest, read Fun Facts, and Learn about the Bureau.

Central Intelligence Agency
On the CIA's Homepage for Kids, you can take the Geography Trivia Quiz, Try a Disguise, and Break the Code. You can also learn about the CIA--its history, the seal, what the CIA does--and take a virtual tour.

Consumer Product Safety Commission
Meet Kidd Safety at the Consumer Product Safety Commission web site, a site geared to prevent risks of injuries to children as you play all kinds of Kidd's safety games.

Environmental Protection Agency
This agency offers three different web sites to play and learn. The first is the Global Warming Kids Site that offers a Word Search, Hangman, Concentrate, and a Crossword Puzzle to test your knowledge of global warming. The second site, the Office of Water, has such games and activities as Water Trivia, Water Bloopers, Word Scramble, and Water Myths and Realities. The third EPA site, Explorer's Club Game Room, lets you choose Detective Activities, Recycle City, Crossword, or What's Wrong with this Picture? Enjoy!

Federal Aviation Administration
Join the Federal Aviation Administration for "America Recycles Day" as you Solve the Code, Unscramble Words, or complete the Crossword Puzzle or Word Search.

Federal Bureau of Investigation
Play games at the FBI's Kids and Youth web site. Choose from the Matching Game, Special Agent Undercover, and the Sliding Tile Puzzle. Also, you can link to Working Dogs, Crime Detection, Crime Prevention, and Junior Special Agent.

Federal Emergency Management Agency
Play games, games, games at this web site by FEMA as you choose between Turtle Tale, Hurricane House, Canine Heroes, Crossword Puzzle, Kidz Rap, a Maze, Disaster Math, and more. You can access the Hot Feature of the Month and FEMA Headline News, too.

National Aeronautical and Space Administration
NASA offers three web sites for games and learning. The Observatorium has a variety of games: Space Trivia, Identify Satellites, Mars Lander Video Game, and others. You can also go to their Coloring Book or get Wallpaper for your computer here. The second site, NASA Kids Games, offers a Picture Scramble, Word Games, Connect the Stars, and Galaxy Hunt. For Kids Only Earth Science Enterprise, the third site, has Drag and Drop Satellite Images, Earth Trivia, a Map Game, and more.

National Agriculture Statistics Service
At this National Agriculture Statistics Service web site, play games and answer trivia, learn new jokes, fill in MadLibs, and learn about livestock and crops.

National Center for Education Statistics
Here, at the web site for Education Information for Students Across the Nation, play Matching, learn the Word of the Day, create Graphs, or learn about Chances/Probability as you choose among their games and activities.

National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences
You can find the Hidden Pictures or Words, Connect 4, play the A to Z Game, or have some Fireworks Fun at this National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences web site.

Native Americans Planet Youth
Try your hand at Magic Mazes, Strawberry Macaw's Puzzle Page, Chinook Checkers, and Sci[ence] Trivia Game at this game site for the Native Americans Planet Youth. Social Security Administration
The Social Security Administration's History Page offers Fun and Games, such as Crossword Puzzles and Picture Slider Puzzles, to help you learn about this agency's history.

Surgeon General
At The Virtual Office of the Surgeon General, discover an adventure, solve mysteries, unscramble words, and solve brainteasers. You can also access Stuff by Kids and Look It Up to find out more about this agency.

United States Department of Agriculture: Forest Service -- Research and Development

United States Fire Administration

United States Patent and Trademark Office
The Patent and Trademark Office offers Matching games, Inventor IQ, Whodunit, Goldmine, and Trademark Treasure so you can learn more about trademarks and patents and why they are important.


Lodi Public Library
Although a state government entity, the Lodi Public Library in California offers a web site with links to fun and games on the web: Harry Potter, Disney, Nickelodeon, PBS Kids, Origami, and more. Check it out for more fun and excitement.
