· Gateway National Recreational Area - Some brief information about camping opportunities at this entrance to the New York/New Jersey estuary - two arms of land stretch across the water forming a natural gateway to the nation's greatest port.

· Camping in Rhode Island - This site is sponsored by the state's tourism department and offers lists of municipal camping, private camping, and state camping areas.

· Vermont State Parks - Here are some links to information about camping at one of the parks. There is not detailed information about the parks here but if you scroll down to Site Suggestions (or click HERE) there is some info about where you might want to try. The state does have a primitive camping policy that means, simply, find your own campsite. Try the state park list for detailed information about the individual parks.

· Shenandoah National Park - This site offers brief information about where, along Skyline Drive, the campgrounds are located.

· George Washington and Jefferson National Forests - Here is access to different regions of both parks - simply click on the area of interest to see if there is camping available. · Appalachian National Scenic Trail - Also known as the AT, this trail runs from North Georgia to Central Maine. There is opportunity for camping along the way. This site will provide some brief information.

· Blue Ridge Parkway - The Parkway extends 469 miles through the southern Appalachians of Virginia and North Carolina, linking Shenandoah and Great Smoky Mountain National Parks along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Camping information is available here.
