The
U.S.

enacted by Congress to protect the work of writers. This
pathfinder has been
created to provide students, professors, journalists, webmasters, and
any other
writers who wish to learn more about copyright laws. The information
available on this page

to register a work for copyright, and why understanding copyright laws
is
important. The information is free and when available, can be

It is a good
place to

United
States
Government Copyright Office from the Library of
Congress
Without
a doubt, this should be the first Web site to consult with questions
about
copyright laws
in America. As the Marybeth Peters, Register of
Copyrights explains,
“Our homepage
has been created
with the desire to serve the copyright
community of creators and users,
as well
as the general public.”
This site is well organized with a lot of very
useful
(and interesting)
information that can be downloaded for free.

Many of the links are followed with
an abstract about the site.
There is plenty of great information that
is hard
to find anywhere else on the Web.

The

for "the
ongoing debate

the emerging digital
network environment." This is an interesting
Web site with good information about copyright
in the Digital Age.
Electronic
Frontier
Foundation
The
EFF aims to protect “freedom where law and technology collide.” This is
a
decent site with an archived list of articles well worth perusing.
Also, the
alphabetized links
located to the right of the homepage is a good place
to
start looking for information about
copyright laws and the Digital Age.

the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, V. 1-3
From
GPO Access, this is a set of 3 books that evaluates Title 1 of the DMCA
as well
as
“the relationship between existing and emerging technology.”
Perhaps, may be
considered a useful source for those doing research regarding the DMCA.
