- Includes a wealth of bicycling reports, studies, websites, and bibliographies in areas such as health, safety, road design and more. For example, the
Bicycling Parking at the Work Place report contains prices and detailed descriptions of various bicycle racks and lockers. Information is most easily obtained by using DOTBOT, the site search engine.
Virtual Library: Transportation-Cycling page - This page, also offered by the BTS, contains a list of links to commercial, government, and other organizations relating to cycling in various subjects.
Bicycle and Pedestrian Program page - Offered by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration includes a list of full text reports, studies and links.
Cycling Teams:
U.S. Postal Service-sponsored professional cycling team.
- Meet the 1998 team and see their racing schedule.
Team New Mexico
- Share the teams experience of Eco-Challenge, a 300+ mile race in British Columbia's vast, wild glacial terrain. The Eco-Challenge pitted endurance, skills and wits against time and the extreme conditions of the mountainous back country. Site includes photos and links.
For Kids:
- This National Bicycle Safety Network page has links including information on bicycle safety month, and consumer products for kids.

- This Consumer Products Safety Commission is a colorful interactive site. It included a quiz along with other cycling information.
The Sprocket Man comic book available from this site teaches bicycle maintenance, rules, and safety.
Holiday Bicycle Safety - Includes photos and safety tips.
Local government sites:
Bicycling in King County, WA - This site includes maps, bike trips, information for traveling with bikes on the metro bus system, and local bike clubs in Washington.
California Air Resources Board Bicycle Awareness Program - Contains documents relating to improving air quality through increased cycling. Full text documents include the California Bicycle Summit: Toward Bicycle-Friendly Communities.
Community Cycling Center - Bike club and program information is available for the Portland Oregon area along with statistics and other general information.
Washington State Department of Transportation Bicycling Page - Offers numerous links to cycling information throughout the United States.
Parks and Recreation:
Recreation.gov - This site contains recreational opportunities on federal lands with 462 parks offering biking options. Park locations, phone numbers and links to websites are included.
Bicycling in Big Bend National Park - This site describes individual rides throughout the park and includes, distances and difficulty ratings and more. One and two way routes are available.

Center for Disease Control:
Sheet for Bicycle-Related Head Injuries - The National Center for Injury Prevention and Control gives helmet wearing related statistics, injury prevention methods, and references.
Guideline on the use of Bicycle Helmets - This detailed article contains the CDC's guideline on the prevention of head injuries among cyclists. Including information on the magnitude and extent of the problem of bicycle-related head injuries and the potential impact of increased helmet use; the characteristics of helmets, including biomechanical characteristics, helmet standards, and performance in actual crash conditions; barriers that impede increased helmet use; and approaches to increasing the use of bicycle helmets within the community. In addition, bicycle helmet legislation and community educational campaigns are evaluated.
National Bike Safety Network - Offers brief statistics and many links, including non-government sites, relating to education, use, and standards on helmets.
Other Cycling Subjects:
Presidential Sports Award - This site gives requirements to obtaining the award in bicycling and other sports. The program is sponsored by the President's Council on Physical Fitness in conjunction with national sports organizations and associations.
Bureau of Land Management:
Mountain Biking - This site includes photos, geographic information and trail descriptions for mountain biking in and around Redding, CA.
Consumer Product Safety Commission:
Sports Related Recalls - This site lists over 50 recalls including bicycles, and other cycling related gear. Each link gives a detailed description of the recalled part or parts and very clear graphics for identification.
Sustainable Transportation - This site includes links to cycling related e-mail discussion lists in areas such as, bike commuting, and global cycling networks.
Transportation Policy:
