Compiled by: Kathleen M. Kirwin, October 1997
This page is intended to assist all interested parties in the location of government provided veterans information available on the Web.

These are sites that I feel will be of interest to veterans of all branches and in any location.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Internet World Wide Web (WWW) Server is a world wide resource that provides information on VA programs, veterans benefits, VA facilities worldwide, and VA medical automation software. Made available on September 1994, the VA WWW serves several major constituencies including the veteran and his/her dependents, Veterans Service Organizations, the military, the general public, and VA employees around the world. Currently the VA WWW Server provides a monthly average of 600,000 document retrievals to over 26,000 unique electronic addresses. These documents are easily accessible and richly linked from their table of contents, as well as searchable by keyword.
VA Government Information Locator Service:
The Government Information Locator System(GILS) is mandated by the Office of Management and Budget Bulletin Number 95-01 of December 7, 1994, and the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (Public Law 10 4-13). This is the Department of Veterans Affairs first implementation of the Government Information Locator system. (The search indices are under evaluation.)
VETS: Veterans' Employment and Training Service
The mission of the agency is to help veterans, reservists, and National Guard members in securing employment and the rights and benefits associated with such, through existing programs, the coordination and merger of programs, and the implementation of new programs. Services provided are to be consistent with the changing needs of employers and the eligible veterans' population.
Welcome to the Department of Veterans Affairs 1-Stop Customer Service Inquiry Page! From this page you can make an electronic inquiry directly to the VA on any of a number of issues. If you are unable to find an area to satisfy your question, please call the VA toll-free number, 1-800-827-1000.
