DESCRIPTION:
	This is a subseries of the Catalog of Copyright Entries series.  
      Lists all lectures, sermons, monologues, domestic and foreign 
      plays and dramatic musicals -- both published and unpublished
      -- that have been registered in the U.S. Copyright Office of
      the Library of Congress during the previous 6 months.  Published 
      in accordance with sections 210 and 211 of Title 17 of the United 
      States Code to provide evidence of copyright for court cases. 
      Main entries are listed in alphanumeric order by copyright
      registration number. Main entries consist of a bibliographic 
      citation, physical description, date of publication (or copyright 
      registration if the item is unpublished),copyright symbol where
      applicable, and name of copyright claimant.  Entries are indexed 
      by title and author.  A separate section lists all copyright 
      renewals made during the previous year.  This series replaced 
      Catalogue of Copyright Entries  and is superseded 
      by Catalog of Copyright Entries, Fourth Series -- 
      Part 3 : Performing Arts.

USES: Useful to librarians researching copyright information and
      any member of the general public seeking copyright information 
      on a published or unpublished dramatic work.  Of particular 
      interest to dramatic performers seeking to make certain they

Washington through Calvin Coolidge) have been                
microfilmed and indexed.  Indexes give names and            
dates of writers, names of recipients of each                
manuscript, and descriptive information about each          
document.

	This is a directory which lists all libraries 
which participate in the Library of Congress's National
Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped 
(NLS).  Libraries are listed alphabetically by state,
entries include the library's address and telephone number
(also e-mail address, TDD number, and/or fax number, 
if applicable), the name of the library director, 
the library's hours, a brief listing of the types 
of books available through this library (Braille,
cassette, large print, etc.), the types of special 
services the library provides patrons (i.e. Kurzweil readers,
magnifiers, reference service, summer reading programs, etc.)
,and the types of special collections the library has 
(i.e.specialized reference materials, local history/local
interest materials,films, etc.).
	This source includes a section on "Other Library 
Resources", which lists non-profit organizations which 
are not affiliated with NLS but provide similar services.
Also included are appendices with statistics on the numbers 
of disabled readers enrolled in NLS programs, the circulation 
statistics of NLS libraries, and the budget, number of staff,
and collection size of NLS libraries.

      transcription, tape recording, print enlargements,
      or binding.
      Entries for Braille transcribers also list any 
      Braille code specialties such as sheet music, 
      mathematics, and specific languages such as 
      French, Hebrew, Greek, etc.
	Includes a separate section of special education
      resource contacts in each state and a listing of
      Braille proofreaders who are certified by the 
      Library of Congress.

USES:  Of particular interest to blind and other physically
       handicapped individuals who are unable to read print 
       and use specialized materials which are not 
       readily available in Braille, tape, or large print
