Henry Hall

Henry Hall received his undergraduate degree in history from St. Andrews Presbyterian College (Laurinburg, NC) in 1971 and his Masters of Librarianship degree from the University of South Carolina in 1974. Henry was a classroom teacher in both middle and high school before returning to graduate school to earn his library science degree. He was a public library director in North Carolina for twelve years before returning to South Carolina. He was the audiovisual librarian and later the director of the learning resource center at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College (Orangeburg, SC). After renewing his teaching certificate Henry became an elementary school media specialist in Sumter School District Two. He has been the media specialist at R. H. Fulmer Middle School in West Columbia for the past fifteen years. In 2004 Henry achieved National Board Certification in Early Childhood through Young Adulthood/Library Media. He has been active professionally serving on committees of ALA's Public Library Association, and on legislative advocacy committees of the North Carolina Public Library Association, the South Carolina Library Association, and the South Carolina Association of School Librarians. He is currently the vice chairman of the Junior Book Award Committee of the South Carolina Association of School Librarians. He is married to fellow adjunct faculty member Elisabeth Hall, a media specialist at Brennen Elementary School in Columbia.
