Jin Soo Chung, PhD

Jin Soo Chung earned her Ph.D. in Information Studies from University of Maryland, College Park in 2003, her M.L.S. from Emporia State University in 1997, and her B.A. in Library Science from Sung Kyun Kwan University in 1991.

Jin Soon Chung is currently teaching in the department of Library and Information Science at Duksung Women’s University in Seoul, Korea. Prior to her current position,she worked as an Assistant Professor in the department of Middle/Secondary Education and Instructional Technology at Georgia State University from 2005 tol 2008.

Dr. Chung's research interests lie in youth information seeking and use, children’s learning and learning environment in constructivist paradigm, library programming for children and adolescents, and roles of library media specialists from international perspectives. She is currently teaching seminar in school library media programs, production of digital contents for library and information environments, information literacy, and library programming to promote reading.
